This week we’re in conversation with Greg Bem, a poet, community college librarian and the founder of Carbonation Press.
Carbonation is a small, local literary publisher with a catalogue of about 20 titles so far. Greg came in to talk about two very recent ones in particular: the bilingual anthology Somos ajolotes (We Are Axolotls) and the Spokane-centric poetry anthology Down River, Deep Root.
In addition to outlining the principles that guide Carbonation Press, Greg discusses some of the themes in Down River, Deep Root, like the idea of home and our connection to places that are now consigned to memory.
There’s also a brief foray into another of Greg’s ventures, the multidisciplinary event series known as Foray for the Arts.
