This week we’re in conversation with Tucker Miller, founder and director of the Boomjam Music Festival in Spokane.

Now in its third year, Boomjam takes place on September 12 in the two-tier event area behind the Spokane Convention Center next to Riverfront Park.

Tucker discusses who’s behind Boomjam, how music festivals are closely linked to the creative economy and why Spokane’s music scene has had to work harder than others to build and maintain momentum (hint: it’s the post-college flight).

He also previews some of the bands from this year’s lineup, which includes Lady Wray, Mamalarky, Jacklen Ro, Persona 749, Roy G. Biv, Tomboy, Jumbotron and many more artists.
